In the last weeks of the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon developed the mobile armor MA-06 Val-Walo, based on the MA-05 Bigro. Whereas the Bigro was designed for anti-ship assaults, the Val-Walo was intended to serve as both an anti-ship unit and as a close combat unit against mobile suits. Sporting a powerful mega particle cannon, anti-air beam guns and vulcan guns, and large claw arms, it was well suited to both these mission roles. Another weapon in its anti-MS arsenal was its trio of plasma leaders, an improvement on the Adzam leaders used in the MAX-03 Adzam mobile armor. These weapons, when deployed around a target, opened up and emitted powerful electrically-charged plasma, disrupting and overloading a mobile suit’s controls and electronics. Due to its late entry into the war, however, only a handful were constructed.

One unit survived the war and found its way into the ownership of former Zeon pilot Kelly Layzner, who kept his Val-Walo hidden at his junkyard in the lower levels of Von Braun City on Luna. In UC 0083, Kelly’s old friend and wingmate Anavel Gato invited him to join the Delaz Fleet in their Operation Stardust offensive. Kelly jumped at the chance, rebuilding the Val-Walo and modifying it so that he could pilot it in his one-armed condition. When Cima Garahau officially purchased the Val-Walo from Kelly on behalf of the Delaz Fleet, she intended to assign one of her own pilots to fly the mobile armor. Desiring to prove himself, Kelly launched the Val-Walo and challenged the Earth Federation Forces’ assault carrier Albion, docked at Von Braun. The Val-Walo was subsequently destroyed in a duel against the RX-78GP01Fb Gundam GP01Fb Zephyranthes Full Burnern on Luna’s surface.
