The Albion was a Pegasus class assault carrier constructed by the Earth Federation Forces in UC 0083. Like other ships of its class, it was constructed from multiple blocks, including living quarters that featured an artificial gravity area. Differences in construction resulted in some Pegasus ships having radically different appearances. The Albion also utilized a Minovsky craft system, which allowed it to fly at low altitudes on Earth and escape unassisted from the planet’s atmosphere. Launched in October UC 0083, the Albion featured some improvements over its sister ships, including upgraded armaments like anti-air/ground laser guns, as well as a laser rocket system that could be used to break free from the Moon’s gravity well. The Albion was dispatched under the command of Capt. Eyphar Sinapus in to pick up two prototype mobile suits from Anaheim Electronics: the RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes and the RX-78GP02A Gundam GP02A Physalis. Both mobile suits were taken to Australia’s Torrington Base for full gravity testing as part of the secret Gundam Development Project.

Unbeknownst to the EFF, Zeon remnants commanded by Aiguille Delaz learned of the existence of the secret mobile suits and planned to steal them as part of Operation Stardust. Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato infiltrated the Torrington Base and stole the GP02A from the Albion‘s mobile suit hangar. With rookie pilot Kou Uraki in control of the GP01, the Albion was assigned by Gen. John Cowen to pursue Gato and retrieve the GP02A. The Albion pursued Gato to the Kimberlite diamond mine used by remnant Zeon forces in Africa, but Gato escaped into space with an HLV. The Albion followed Gato into space and docked at Von Braun City when Delaz made a public speech to show the GP02A as an example of the EFF’s hypocrisy. Afterwards, the Albion patrolled the area around Confeito during the EFF naval review. Gato struck at the fleet with the GP02A’s nuclear armament, inflicting severe damage. Afterwards, the Albion docked at the Anaheim Electronics ship La Vie en Rose to hijack the new RX-78GP03 Dendrobium Orchis and Stamen components in an attempt to stop a Zeon colony drop. Operation Stardust ended with the Delaz Fleet successfully dropping a colony on North America. The Albion‘s fate following Operation Stardust was unknown, but many of its crew were transferred to the EFF’s newly formed Titans task force, which was charged with hunting down Zeon remnants.
