Zeon field engineers create the MS-06V Zaku Tank as a stopgap machine for combat units in need of replacement mobile suits. The Zaku Tank is originally introduced on the African front, and the variant MS-06V-8 Zaku Tank "Wild Boar" is deployed to Northern Europe. The V-8 equips a twin Zaku machine gun as its left arm, and the large magazine rack on its back can carry about 3.5 times as much ammunition as a standard magazine. The V-8's added weight gives it a stable base for firing its weapons. However, the downside is that the V-8 is only about 70 percent as fast as the HT-01B Magella Attack. The V-8 is produced with several types of camouflage, including off-white winter colors, a three-color jungle scheme and forest green.
