Owing to its large production run, ZAFT's mass production ZGMF-1017 GINN falls into the hands of many parties, including the pirate Elisa Azana. Elisa's unit is heavily customized for high mobility, featuring new wing thrusters and new custom legs lined with rocket thrusters. Its armaments include a standard machine gun and heavy polearm. In early C.E. 71, Elisa and fellow pirate Otark attack Junk Guild mechanic Lowe Guele in the Debris Belt near Junius Seven in an attempt to steal the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame. However, Lowe manages to outwit both pirates and defeat them.
