The MS-06F-2 Zaku II (Rangefinder) was a customized version of the Principality of Zeon’s mass production MS-06F-2 Zaku II F2 mobile suit. The Rangefinder was designed to work in tandem with the MS-06F Zaku II (Gunner) and utilized a gunstock type rangefinder that could accurately detect targets at distances up to 170 km. The rangefinder was connected by cable to the suit’s head, and target data was relayed to the Zaku II (Gunner), which carried a powerful 680mm artillery cannon. The suit’s backpack was equipped with a pair of rocket boosters. Its main armament was a Gatling shield similar to the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom. In December UC 0082, Anaheim Electronics’ Livermore factory on the Moon came under fire from Zeon remnants using the Zaku II (Gunner). In response, the prototype RX-78GP00 Gundam GP00 Blossom was hurriedly sent into battle.
