The MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type was a unit refitted for long-range sniping. To accommodate this role, the head waas been redesigned and fitted with an improved monoeye for targeting. The right leg was also fitted with a kneepad to stabilize the unit while firing. The suit’s main armament, a beam sniper rifle, was powered by an external auxiliary reactor mounted on the back. The Sniper Type was also equipped with a pair of head-mounted vulcan guns and could use a heat hawk for close-range combat. The Sniper Type was used after the One Year War by Zeon remnants, with some remaining in service as late as the Laplace Incident in UC 0096.
