Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED is a manga series originally released in Japan from 2002-2004. It is an adaptation of the TV series of the same name. Written and illustrated by Masatsugu Iwase, it was serialized in Magazine Z. Like the TV series, the story focuses on Kira Yamato, a young Coordinator who gets caught up in the war between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT in C.E. 71. Events from the TV series are compressed to fit within the manga's five volumes. Shortly after the end of the SEED manga, Iwase began working on an adaptation of its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY. Both manga series were released in English in North America by Del Rey Books, but are now out of print.
