The FF-X7-Bst Core Booster was a development of the Earth Federation Forces' FF-X7 Core Fighter. The unit combined the body of a Core Fighter with a booster module. The booster module increased the Core Fighter's speed and firepower, making it capable of fighting mobile suits more effectively. In addition to the Core Fighter's armaments, the Core Booster added a pair of mega particle cannons and multiple bombs. The Core Booster was capable of operating both on Earth and in space and could even act as an impromptu mobile suit sub-flight system. In addition to the standard Core Booster, the EFF also fielded the FF-X7-Bst-II Core Booster II Intercept Type and FFB-7Bst Jet Core Booster II. In November UC 0079, two Core Booster units were delivered to the assault carrier White Base to increase the ship's offensive capabilities.
