The Komusai II was an improved version of the Komusai shuttles used by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. The Komusai II shuttles were designed for use with the late production type Musai cruiser. The Komusai II featured upgraded engines and a more aerodynamic design. The Komusai II moved the mobile suit docking hatch from the rear of the shuttle to the top of its main body. The original’s vulcan guns were replaced with Gatling gun turrets for improved defense. In October UC 0083, Zeon ace Anavel Gato stole the RX-78GP02A Gundam GP02A Physalis from the Earth Federation Forces’ Torrington Base in Australia. After a march across the desert, Gato rendezvoused with a Komusai II to return to space. However, the Komusai II was destroyed just before launch by Kou Uraki’s RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes, forcing Gato to escape by sea instead.
