The AEUG’s FXA-07GB Neo Core Fighter was an evolution of the Core Block System first featured in the RX-78-2 Gundam. Like its predecessor, the agile Neo Core Fighter served the dual purpose of functioning as a fighter plane/escape unit as well as the cockpit of the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. To form the powerful ZZ Gundam, the Neo Core Fighter docked with the Core Top and Core Base. Like most other Core Fighters, it wasn’t equipped with enough weapons to fight well on its own. However, the Neo Core Fighter could dock with either the Core Top or Core Base separately to increase its firepower. The Neo Core Fighter made its debut in the early days of the First Neo Zeon War, during a battle between the AEUG and Neo Zeon at Side 1’s Shangri-La Colony.
