Technical and Historical Notes

Following the apocalyptic end of the 7th Space War, the Space Revolutionary Army finds itself lacking in military strength. It takes several years before they return to their previous fighting levels. The RMS-019 Crouda is the first mobile suit the SRA mass produces after the war. This next generation mobile suit replaces aging models like the RMS-006 Jenice. Aside from being highly maneuverable, the Crouda's armor is powerful enough to withstand a direct shot from a beam weapon. The Crouda carries fairly standard armament consisting of vulcan guns and beam rifles, but its main innovation is its beam cutter. Mounted on the back, this knife-like cutting weapon can cut mobile suits in half or slice into the hull of a battleship. The Crouda does however have one fatal design flaw: it can be destroyed by a direct shot to its front exhaust port. When hostilities begin anew between the SRA and New UNE, the Crouda proves highly effective against its New UNE counterpart, the NRX-018-2 Daughtress Neo. A commander type variant of the Crouda is also produced, the RMS-019R Crouda Lancerow Custom. Some Croudas remain in service as late as A.W. 0024.
