Technical and Historical Notes
A prototype mobile suit developed by the Augusta Newtype Research Institute as a smaller, simpler version of the MRX-009 Psyco Gundam. While the Psyco Gundam could only be operated by Newtypes and enhanced humans, the ORX-013 Gundam Mark V is equipped with a newly developed quasi-psycommu system, which allows even normal pilots to control remote weapons such as the two wire-guided "incoms" stored in its backpack. The performance of the mobile suit itself is also very high, and it carries a shield booster similar to that used by the RX-121 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel] series, which can be attached to its back as an additional thruster. In addition to its incoms and handheld beam rifle, the Gundam Mark V is armed with two backpack beam cannons that double as beam sabers, and optional missile pods can be attached to its shoulders.
Although the Gundam Mark V is initially commissioned by the Titans, the political situation shifts in favor of the AEUG during its development process, and the project is taken over by the regular Federation Forces. Three prototype units are eventually completed, but as the Gryps Conflict comes to an end the Gundam Mark V has yet to enter combat. One unit is placed in storage at the relay station Penta, and another is reportedly given to the Axis forces, who later use it as the basis for the AMX-014 Dooben-Wolf.
During the Pezun Rebellion, the prototype unit stored at Penta is reassigned to Admiral Brian Aeno's fleet in order to help suppress the New Desides. Due to Aeno's defection this prototype ends up in the hands of the rebels instead, and New Desides leader Brave Cod uses this machine throughout the battle for Ayers City, destroying more than twenty Federation Forces mobile suits and wiping out Taskforce Alpha's FA-010A FAZZ team. Brave Cod's Gundam Mark V is ultimately defeated by Ryo Roots and the MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam on March 28, UC 0088.
