Technical and Historical Notes

During the One Year War, Zeonic Company begins development on a new ground model Zaku II with improved firepower, armor, and mobility. Based on the MS-06J model, the MS-06G Zaku II has upgraded mobility and features new internal power ducts in the legs, plus supplementary vernier thrusters. However, due to the simultaneous development of the MS-07B Gouf, production of the MS-06G is suspended after only 50 units have rolled out. One unit is used in the African front by ace pilot Gunther Ball, who earns the nickname "Hawk of Hogar" for destroying nine Earth Federation Forces fighters in one battle. The MS-06G is also deployed to the North American front. Multiple units are confiscated by the EFF at the end of the war. In UC 0090, one of these units is evaluated by the Federation Survey Service (FSS) and fielded in combat following a surprise attack by Zeon remnants.
