Technical and Historical Notes

The MVF-M12A Ootsukigata is a variant of the MVF-M11C Murasame. The Ootsukigata's armament is similar to the Murasame, although the Murasame's missiles have been removed and replaced with a high-energy long range beam cannon. The Ootsukigata also features a dedicated targeting sensor that allows it to track many targets at once. The Ootsukigata is also equipped with additional thrusters on its legs and shield for added maneuverability in Earth's lower atmosphere. Several Ootsukigata units participate in the final battle of the Second Bloody Valentine War in early C.E. 74 outside the mobile fortress Messiah. During the battle, an Ootsukigata unit piloted by Takito Haya Oshidari destroys a ZGMF-X3000Q Providence ZAKU.
