Technical and Historical Notes

During the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces create the experimental RX-81 G-Line with the goal of truly mass producing the RX-78-2 Gundam and matching its performance, compared to the pared down RGM-79 GM. Because the RX-81 is produced after the war, there are no large scale conflicts and the cost of the using Luna Titanium for the next generation of mobile suit proves to be too costly for mass production. The The base G-Line's armaments include the standard vulcan guns, beam sabers, beam rifle and shield. Compared to the Gundam, the G-Line can alter its equipment depending on the mission, and multiple variants are created. In UC 0081, the RX-81AS, RX-81LA and RX-81ST configurations are used by the Phantom Sweep unit to hunt down Zeon remnants. In UC 0083, six RX-81FC units are assigned to the battleship Albion, ostensibly to aid in the search for the Delaz Fleet.
