Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles
In 2002, Bandai released the Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles video game for the Sony PlayStation 2 in Japan. At the same time, a manga adaptation was serialized in Gundam Ace magazine. The manga version features a story written by Studio Orphee's Tomohiro Chiba (Gundam SEED ASTRAY) and illustrated by Masato Natsumoto, with character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop). This side story winds the clock back once more to UC 0079's ever popular One Year War setting. This time, the story focuses on Matt Healy, an Earth Federation mobile suit pilot who leads an experimental platoon that tests new mobile suits. Healy's mission: survive the war without having to kill anyone. On the other side of the war, Ken Bederstadt serves as a pilot for the Principality of Zeon's Foreign Legion. In 2006, TOKYOPOP released the manga in the U.S.
