UN SPACEY FACES PUBLIC SCRUTINY

It has not been a good couple of years for the UN Spacy. What with their
seeming inability to find and eliminate rogue Zentradi pirates, and the loss
of contact with a colony fleet, public faith in them is at an all time low.
All this plus the mass hypnosis perpetrated by the rogue AI Sharon Apple has
lead to a call for public hearings on the military's top brass.
"I think the people of Earth and her allied planets have a right to know if
the men and women charged with protecting us are in fact capable of doing
the job." One senator was quoted as saying. "I understand how difficult it
can be to hunt down a small mobile force, and considering the size of the
universe I might be able to understand losing contact with a colony fleet.
But when an AI is able to take over the Earth's defense system, I'd say it's
time to get some answers."
Isamu Alva Dyson, credited with stopping Sharon Apple, had this to say. "Most of
the soldiers in the UN Spacy are good people; the problem rests with the
brass." It should be noted that Dyson was Honorably Discharged after the
events of the 'Apple Uprising.'
The current head of the UN Spacy could not be reached for comment.
