Dear Mayu,
I'm a young woman with a serious problem. I have the weight of the world on my shoulders, but I'm hardly the right person for it. When I get stressed out or frustrated I just stutter. I keep finding myself in harm's way, and I think that subconsciously I might be putting myself in physical danger as a way out. My brother keeps coming to my rescue, but I know that some day he's just not going to be there to intervene. How should I handle this?
Crybaby
Dear Crybaby,
Since I don't really know you, I'm hardly the right person to tell you how to resolve this problem, but I think that if you keep putting yourself in harm's way, and you know you are, you must be pretty stupid. Have the common sense to stay away from dangerous situations and deal with the stress like normal people - go to the shooting range and shoot things. We all have stress. As for your brother, he shouldn't be protecting you anyway. You won't learn from you mistakes if you never take any bruises. I know this one guy who always stands up for other people, but the truth of it is that he only does it because he likes playing the hero. He has no intention of actually helping those people be better. People like that just need to fall so they learn some humility themselves.
Another option is you could just end it all and jump off a bridge. You'd save us all a lot of stress.
Sincerely,
Mayu's Tears
