Episode 42: Giant Sang Yung vs. the NSX!

Umi and Fuu tell Hikaru about the monsters, Umi noting the castle was also made by the people. Umi and Fuu also ask Hikaru about what's bothering her. On the NSX, Geo is upset that Eagle hasn't contacted them but Zazu is sure he has a plan. Eagle sees that they've made the barrier of his cell thicker and pulls a device out of the heel of his boot. He uses it to locate the proof of the Pillar when he has a coughing fit. Hikaru tells the other two about the dreams she had and they get mad at themselves for not being strong enough for Hikaru to confide in. Umi asks Hikaru why she's protecting Cephiro and Hikaru answers that she wants everyone there to be happy. The other two share the sentiment. On the Dome, Sang Yung and Chang Ang are worried because Aska's been depressed since Fuu left. Aska remember Fuu's words and says Cephiro isn't a dream world that grants wishes. They then spot the NSX by Cephiro castle. Geo prepares to go out and rescue Eagle but stops when they detect the Dome.
Aska wonders why the Rune-Gods don't come out and Chang Ang suggests they might have been defeated. Aska is upset by the idea of Fuu losing and decides to drive Autozam away. She tells Chang Ang she doesn't want to be the Pillar anymore because she loves Fahren too much to only think about Cephiro. She can't rule two countries and Chang Ang is happy that she realizes this. Aska says she promised to have tea with Fuu and summons the giant Sang Yung. It repeatedly attacks the NSX's shield until the ship pulls away. Giant Sang Yung gives chase much to Geo's shock. The NSX pulls away again and readies its weapons. It opens fire but the attacks are ineffective. Geo decides to ram the giant Sang Yung, putting strain on both Aska and the ship. The NSX fires its main gun and giant Sang Yung meets it with a blast from its mouth. Both survive the resulting explosion, but Aska is at her limit and the NSX's engines overheat. Giant Sang Yung grabs the NSX and flies away. Hikaru and Umi wonder about Fahren's motives, but Fuu assures them they're good people. Umi says Chizeta was the same and hopes they can be friends. Eagle remembers Nova saying Hikaru likes him and muses that they could have been friends if they weren't enemies. Eagle uses the device on his wrist to destroy the barrier and head after the proof of the Pillar.
It is a bit jarring moving from the whole Nova thing back to Aska. She's been largely irrelevant to the more serious conflict but at least they're doing something with her. She took Fuu's words to heart and actually showed some maturity by giving up on becoming the Pillar. Instead she decides to help Fuu out by getting rid of the NSX, but I'm not sure how much that'll actually impact things. It was quite the spectacle, though. Hikaru finally tells her friends about her dreams but apparently that was all. Hopefully she'll tell them about the rest sooner rather than later. Eagle has also finally made his move and he's proven himself to be resourceful enough that he might just pull it off.
