Gundam AGE

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE

Premiering in late 2011, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is the 12th Gundam TV series. In a new direction for the franchise, Sunrise is working closely on production with game developer Level 5, which has worked on game series like Dragon Quest and Professor Layton. In another first, the story is about a multi-generational conflict, featuring three protagonists from the Asuno family. Directed by Susumu Yamaguchi (Sgt. Frog movies), the series is scripted by Level 5 president Akihiro Hino and features mecha designs from Kanetake Ebikawa and Kenji Teraoka of Gundam 00, as well as Junya Ishigaki (Gundam X). Set in the Advanced Generation universe, the series focuses on a century-long war between the Earth Federation Forces and Vagan, a group of Martian colonists who were abandoned by Earth and have returned to reclaim the planet as their own. The keys to war are the evolving Gundams piloted by three generations of Asunos. The series is available on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan. However, due to Bandai Entertainment ending all new releases, the series hasn't been licensed for the U.S. In 2013, Sunrise released a compilation OVA entitled Memory of Eden that features new footage and focuses on Asemu Asuno and Zeheart Galette.
